For some reason known only to technical people, my old blog isn't working properly, and so I've decided to start again! I've not bee a very good blogger, so hope that this will kickstart me into more blogging action!
My life is changing, and there are lots of new starts which have happened recently, or will start in the next year. I hope to share some of these with you.
For the last 7 years I have been selling my hand dyed textile supplies on Etsy but I'm planning to close at the end of the year. My husband has retired, and we are moving to a new home on the North Norfolk Coast which we have been refurbishing since July 2014. It's finally finished, apart from a few tweaks, and we plan to move permanently next Spring. We are sharing our time between 2 houses at the moment, so it's difficult to keep my shop going! I've still got quite a lot of stock to dye (including 6 trays which are sitting in the kitchen as I write), so will stay open until it's sold or given away!
I'm also starting my 3rd online class with the fantastic Karen Ruane which I'm really looking forward to. A chance to do more embroidery and design without feeling slightly guilty. I don't know why I should feel like this. I think I'm torn between trying to run my shop, housework and other domestic chores (usually avoided if possible), spending time with my newly retired husband, and doing my own thing.
Anyway, my husband has encouraged me to do this course, as I enjoyed the other two so much, so I WILL be doing more stitching and associated design whether he likes it or not!
That's enough for today. Now I hope that I can publish this and someone will read it!
Beautiful colours. How fabulous to have the coast to look forward to..and it will be good to be able to stitch and dye at a leisurely pace. :)
ReplyDeleteThe colours are gorgeous! Hope the move goes smoothly and the transition from selling on etsy to being free to stitch and travel. Don't you just love Karen's classes.
